The Significator of the Spirit
-Archetype Nighteen-

Provides a summary of the nightteenth archetype of the Archetypal Mind

Small Title

Helvetica Light is an easy-to-read font, with tall and narrow letters, that works well on almost every site.

In the Law of One material, the archetypes form a fundamental part of understanding the structure and evolution of the mind, body, and spirit. The Significator of the Spirit represents the total spirit complex as it exists at any given moment. Ra describes this persona as “that living entity which either radiates or absorbs the love and light of the One Infinite Creator, radiates it to others or absorbs it for the self.” The persona is the Celebrant—the self that is a living party, the characteristic and infectious vibe that results from the integration of the Catalyst and Experience of the Spirit.

Overview of the Archetype

The Significator of the Spirit is symbolized by a man and a woman standing in the center of a ring of flowers, the man to the right of the woman and the woman to the left of the man. They hold hands and look into each other’s eyes. On the man’s chest a bird in flight is emblazoned; on the woman’s chest an ankh is emblazoned. Above them the Sun shines brightly with a lingam-yoni symbol inside it. The two figures are clothed lightly and are youthful in their physical appearance.

Symbolic Elements

The Two Figures

The male figure with a bird in flight on his chest and the female figure with an ankh on her chest represent the two sides of the spirit complex, the transparent (masculine) and the hidden (feminine). They are the same figures seen earlier in the mind cycle, but here they are the two sides of the veiled spirit, not the veiled mind. The bird in flight indicates that, through the activity of the masculine side of the spirit, the inner witness flies from the earth to union with the Creator. The ankh indicates that, through the veiled incarnate experience, the power and abundant resources of the feminine side pass from the infinite abode of the Creator all the way into manifestation and back.

The Ring of Flowers, the Hands, and the Sun

The circle of flowers is a spiritual circle. It delineates the boundary between the sacred space and the mundane space. The two figures stay inside the spiritual circle to show that, from the perspective of the spirit complex, all of life plays out in the sacred space. It is made of flowers to indicate the natural beauty, fecundity, and grace of the spiritual experience. The image of holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes signifies exaltation. To take the hand of another and look into their eyes is to exalt them above oneself without consideration for the self. The Sun represents the Logos, both within and beyond. It shines in support regardless of which path we choose, offering its love and light to the third density experience pursued in purity, whether on the right- or left-hand paths. In either case the ongoing spiritual experience is a continuous ecstatic union of the masculine and feminine sides of spirit.

Functions and Dynamics

The persona of the Significator of the Spirit is the self that is a living party. A party always has a vibe. The vibe of a party will determine how the people at the party will react to the drama that unfolds when demons are exposed. The Celebrant is best understood as having a characteristic and infectious vibe. This word generally refers to the minister of a ceremonial ritual, but here it means a state of being in which we celebrate the pleasures of living at each and every moment. There is no special task the Celebrant needs to do, no accomplishments that the Celebrant cares about. The Celebrant is here to boogie. They are completely focused on the present moment, and the people they draw in are interested in the Celebrant because of who the Celebrant is, not because of anything they do. The experience of pleasure and contact with the divine overlap for the Celebrant. The sacred is identified through the guise of the pleasant. The Celebrant enjoys third density life and enjoys experiencing the light of the Creator through third density life. The Celebrant cannot change their vibe; they can only live it.

The Role of Catalysts

The Significator of the Spirit is the resultant integration and manifestation of the light of the Creator as it passes through the processes of Catalyst and Experience of the Spirit. On the personal level the Celebrant is our own personal vibe—the way of handling inner demons and their exposure that constitutes the personal vibratory signature each of us carries. On the interpersonal level the Celebrant welcomes another into our spiritual state of being. Who we are as spiritual beings manifests in how we speak to and touch other people, how we treat small animals, how we adorn our dwelling. On the social level the Celebrant is the representative of a group or a society attempting to attract others by virtue of the relationship being a good energetic fit. A social Celebrant’s role is to show others a good time.

Veiling and Unveiling

The two figures represent the transparent and hidden sides of the veiled spirit. The ring of flowers shows that all of life plays out in the sacred space from the perspective of the spirit complex. The veil remains, yet the ongoing spiritual experience is a continuous ecstatic union of the masculine and feminine sides of spirit. The Sun shines in support regardless of which path is chosen. Unveiling occurs as the vibe of the Celebrant is lived and shared, revealing the moral quality of the human being that is always on display.

Polarity and Balance

As Ra says, the nature of this persona is to either radiate the love and light of the Creator or absorb it. The right-hand path Celebrant is a Unicorn. They will cause others to feel more like themselves than they ever have before. Just being near the Unicorn is empowering, because the magic of the Unicorn’s very nature infects others. The left-hand path Celebrant is the Vampire. This persona is appealing on all outward levels and as alluring as they are terrifying. Those who enter the presence of such a person instantly feel the magnetic pull. The mixed Celebrant is a False Guru, always at the center of a cult of personality. Those who interact with the False Guru feel uplifted and used, loved and controlled, in alternating fashion. Another mixed expression is the Celebrant who wallows in misery and attracts others who match that same vibration.

Integration and Transformation

The Celebrant cannot change their vibe; they can only live it. A purely polarized vibe is something that must be hard-won through transformation. Distorted expressions include the False Guru who alternates between love-bombing and shaming, and the Celebrant who indulges in spiritual displeasure. Integration occurs as the Traveler develops familiarity with the Celebrant’s vibratory signature and eventually develops critical distance from it. When that critical distance becomes sufficient, the Transformation of the Spirit arises so that the Celebrant may be reconfigured.

Practical Application

In practical terms, working with the Significator of the Spirit involves noticing the characteristic and infectious vibe that results from the integration of the Catalyst and Experience of the Spirit. Meditation and honest self-inquiry can reveal the personal vibratory signature that is always on display and the ways in which others feel it when they interact with us. The work is not to force a pure polarized expression but to observe the vibe as it is and to allow the Celebrant to live it fully. By recognizing that the sacred is identified through the guise of the pleasant and that the Celebrant can only live the vibe that has already been integrated, the seeker creates the conditions under which critical distance may develop and the Transformation of the Spirit may eventually arise.

Summary

The Significator of the Spirit is the total spirit complex as it exists at any given moment—the Celebrant whose characteristic and infectious vibe either radiates or absorbs the love and light of the One Infinite Creator. Through its symbolism of the youthful man and woman holding hands within the ring of flowers, the bird and the ankh, and the Sun containing the lingam-yoni, it shows the continuous ecstatic union of the transparent and hidden sides of the spirit and the picnic of third density experience. This archetype guides the seeker to recognize the personal vibratory signature that is always on display, to observe the vibe that has been integrated through the Catalyst and Experience of the Spirit, and to allow the Celebrant to live that vibe so that critical distance and Transformation may eventually arise.
